With a Boot Scoot bike, your kiddo will easily and independently discover the balance, agility, and confidence necessary for riding a traditional bicycle. Say goodbye to the false confidence of training wheels, and to that ache in your back from running beside your child while they scream 'don't let go!' Now you and your little one can go for a bike ride together, instead of having to confine them to a stroller!
Developed for children ages 2-6, the Boot Scoot has no pedals. Instead, kids use their own boots to scoot themselves along, learning balance as they go. With fun and colorful designs, little ones can’t wait to ride their Boot Scoot.
How It Works
Most children start by walking while straddling their Boot Scoot. When they become more comfortable, they will begin to sit on the seat, push themselves forward, and maintain balance with both feet. As they learn to balance on their own, they will begin to lift their feet for short distances. Before long, they’ll be cruising along and you’ll have to quicken your pace just to keep up. Some children take a few days, others a few weeks to get the hang of it. But no matter how long it takes, your child will have tons of fun learning to ride their Boot Scoot.
Is Your Child Ready For Boot Scoot?
Boot Scoots are designed for children ages 2 through 6. A more specific indication that your child is ready to start riding is their inseam. The seat height of the smaller model, the Zoomer, adjusts from approximately 14"-17" with a quick-release saddle. Most children are ready to ride either on or soon after their second birthday. The Cruiser's seat adjusts from 17"- 20" and it weighs a little more, making it perfect for slightly older children, typically ages 3-6. If your child’s inseam is at least 14", they are ready to ride! The maximum recommended weight is 80 lbs.

I just wanted to let you know what a great product you have. My son just turned 3 and learned to balance on his Boot Scoot in about 3 hours over the course of a couple days. I was so moved to see him learn so quickly. The look on his face from teaching himself was priceless. This is a great tool for teaching young kids how to focus on the task at hand. It is amazing what a child can do when you get out of the way and remove all the unnecessary 'stuff.' -Beverly H., Ohio
